Liberty house recovery is a fully licensed inpatient medical facility, with doctors, counselors, nurses, and medical personnel on duty and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.

The journey of recovery has a different path for every person suffering from the disease, but the feeling of liberty and peace of freeing oneself from addiction to substances or unhealthy patterns of behavior is one of the greatest personal achievements any individual can attain.
Our comprehensive services of exceptional quality with the utmost discretion offers personalized treatment with a commitment to excellent that reflected in all aspects of the path to recovery .it is fully tailored to individual needs in a secluded and beautifully designed environment but one with all the opportunities, resources, and safety of an inpatient medical clinic fully licensed.

Our team at Liberty House Recovery work as one across all aspects of our program. Our treatment team, both medical and therapeutic practitioners are recruited for their recognized expertise combined with the very genuine human qualities of empathy and compassion.

Dr. Susan Abed
As a valued and active member of Michigan’s dynamic community for over 25 years, Dr. Abed has spent her life practicing compassion and using her expertise to help both children and adults grow their self-esteem, self-worth, and confidence. These years have given her much joy but have also highlighted the affliction of addiction within her community and beyond that has seemed to touch every individual, in one way or another. Dr. Abed has developed this project to extend her passion for helping people and has created a strong team that shares her goal of providing individualized, compassionate, and effective care for the people and their families touched by alcohol and substance use. By bringing the latest and most advanced evidence-based therapies to Michigan, Dr. Abed not only wants every client to achieve happiness through long-lasting sobriety but to also help reduce the stigma associated with addiction and other mental health problems.

Dr. Wisam Salman, MD
Dr. Salman received his medical degree from the University of Mosul and completed his psychiatric residency at Michigan State’s Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies. He has done extensive work in areas of community public health, substance abuse, mood disorders, depression, and schizophrenia. Since 2009, Dr. Salman has been pursuing his passion for helping substance use disorder afflicted individuals and their families within the Michigan community and beyond. He is passionate about addressing all factors that contribute to one’s substance use disorder and recognizes the need for unique and individualized care for every patient for effective results. Dr. Salman’s guidance for evidence-based practices that encompasses a mind-body-lifestyle approach has been an instrumental part in developing the program at Liberty House Recovery Center.

Brandee Wiseman
Brandee has been an instrumental part of the development of Liberty House Recovery Center since the beginning. Her journey began with owning and operating an orthotic clinic for over 16 years, focusing on the integration of good management and the health sector. Over the years, witnessing family and friends struggle with drug and alcohol use has given her a strong passion for Liberty House Recovery Center and doing her part to help the community. Brandee strives to use her expertise in operations management and health care administration combined with her strong personalized understanding of addiction to facilitate an environment that is welcoming, warm, and effective to aid every client in the healing process. A strong believer in holistic and mindfulness-based programs, Brandee is passionate about striving for excellence in all aspects of services offered at Liberty House Recovery Center.

Ashley Casey
Ashley began her journey as a University of Michigan undergraduate who completed her degree in Foot and Ankle Medicine and Surgery at Kent State University. During the second year of her residency at the Henry Ford Hospital System, Ashley experienced an accident that landed her in the ICU for several weeks, almost losing her life. In the aftermath of the incident, Ashley went through her own therapy to gain an understanding of the experience and, in the process, found a passion for the field of psychology. She was genuinely touched by the universal problem of individuals suffering from alcohol and substance use failing to receive adequate treatment due to the overwhelmed national mental health system. She found a passion for understanding the complex and unique combination of underlying issues that surround alcohol and substance use, as well as the mind-body-lifestyle changes that support long-lasting sobriety. Ashley is currently working towards her Master’s in Clinical Psychology with the goal of becoming a Licensed Psychologist here in the state of Michigan, where she can use her unique background to provide compassionate and understanding care for every client she encounters.

Daniel Casey
With over 10 years in recovery and working in the fields of substance use and mental health, Daniel is passionate about his own recovery as well as helping others on the same journey to success. He is well-versed in using a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to encourage clients to focus on themselves and reach their goals in recovery. His first-hand experience makes him an excellent source of support for clients seeking treatment at Liberty House Recovery Center, demonstrating that a better life is possible. Daniel has worked in treatment centers across multiple states, providing him with unique skills and knowledge he now shares with the Michigan community and beyond.

Chelsey Seymour
Since 2014, Chelsey’s continuous work in medical and mental health-related fields has bolstered her strong passion for using her skills to help those suffering from alcohol and substance use disorders. She has extensive experience working with clients in subacute detox, residential, and outpatient clinical settings. She is currently working towards her Associate's Degree in Nursing at Mott Community College. Chelsey strives to provide every client the medical and mental health care they deserve, regardless of their current circumstances, and is passionate about helping the Michigan community and beyond.

Theresa Taylor LMSW,CAADC-DP
Theresa is a Master of Social Work and a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Michigan. She obtained her graduate degree from Wayne State University with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and obtained her undergraduate degree from Eastern Michigan University. Theresa has experience providing intensive services for individuals with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has cultivated a wealth of knowledge and training related to assessment, diagnosing and treatment of co-occurring disorders. Additionally, she has an extensive history working in and assisting individuals to navigate the community mental health systems. Taking the first step toward recovery can be scary, but it is a brave choice and ensuring that individuals are able to access treatment when they are ready is crucial. Theresa is passionate about reducing barriers for treatment and increasing access to care for all individuals. She believes the foundation of successful treatment is person centered, trauma informed care that is built by a strong alliance between an individual and their treatment team.

Nicholas Weiss, LMSW, CAADC
A University of Michigan graduate with Bachelors and masters in social work with a minor in Health Education and Behavior. Nicholas is a fully licensed Social Worker and a Certified Advanced Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Since 2009, Nicholas has worked in outpatient community mental health, inpatient psychiatric, outpatient partial hospitalization, and outpatient therapy. These experiences have offered him the opportunity to have a well-rounded clinical view and understanding of the treatment paths available. These experiences provided him the ability to learn the skills of working with individuals no matter where they are at on their journey. For the past 5 years, his focus has been in substance use in the outpatient sector. He has provided both individual and group therapy to individuals in recovery; especially professionals within the field of healthcare.

Tammy Feth, RN, BSN
Tammy Feth RN, BSN, brings over 22 years of nursing experience to the team. Holding accolades such as Director Of Nursing and infection control specialist, RN/Lead committee of patient safety and workplace violence at U of M’s Psychiatric Emergency Department and RN/Charge nurse at a level 1 trauma Center. Tammy has conducted extensive work with addiction and psychiatric illness, while finding passion towards being an advocate for her patients.
